| Course Description |
| In this workshop students will learn various techniques of stretching and manipulating the thrown form into the likeness of a human figure. In addition, attention will be given to techniques that are specifically used for easily throwing large vessels and altering them into sculptural forms such as gigantic heads. This workshop will appeal to the potter interested in pushing form beyond tradition as well as the sculptor interested in utilizing the wheel. Throwing experience is helpful. |
| Instructor |
| Brian McCallum graduated with an MFA in ceramic sculpture at Kansas State University where he studied under Yoshiro Ikeda. He has been in numerous shows and galleries across the US and has been featured in several publications including Pottery Making Illustrated and Lark Books, “500 Figures in Clay”. He currently serves as a professor of art at Garden City Community College in the culturally diverse and ecologically linear high plains of Kansas. |
