VISITING ARTIST WORKSHOP Pots & Sculptural Vessels
Low and High Fire Soda |
Bede Clarke |
| Course Description |
In this workshop we will explore both functional pottery and non-functional sculptural vessels. A good deal of emphasis will be placed on wheel throwing but all will be encouraged to push the limits of the vessel through surface work, alteration and sculptural and hand built additions. Work will be fired with both low and high temperature soda firing using glazes and flashing slips. To facilitate firing within the workshop time frame we will be doing some raw glazing of work as well as bisque glazing. We will do two firings, however, the last firing will come out after the workshop concludes so participants will need to arrange pick-up or delivery of work.
One bag of clay included with firing, glaze and 2 weeks of open studio. |
