MONDAY – IMPRESSIONISM AND POINTILLISM
Delve into color through the eyes of impressionist painters Monet, Manet and Renoir. Paint landscapes using an impressionist style, exploring texture, color mixing and portrayal of light. Paint your own pointillist portrait like artist Georges Seurat!
TUESDAY – CUBISM
This geometric style of abstract art is uniquely PICASSO! Explore all sides of the cubist world on both 2D and 3D surfaces.
WEDNESDAY – ABSTRACT
There are so many ways to create non-representational art! Learn about the different abstract styles of painting from artists like Jackson Pollock, Mondrian and Willem De Kooning, then create your own “action art” and abstracted masterpieces!
THURSDAY – KITCHEN SINK ART AND ASSEMBLAGE
Let’s make art from everything but the kitchen sink! We will use everyday ‘found’ objects, chosen for their visual and expressive properties, to create a three-dimensional contemporary collage.
FRIDAY – OP-ART AND POP ART
What makes illusions in MC Escher’s art so fantastic? Explore the black and white, geometric world of Op-Art, then brighten it up with Andy Warhol’s Pop Art prints. Design your own black and white paper cut-outs using mathematical tricks and amaze your family and friends with a series of your own pop art prints! . |
