| Course Description |
Let’s travel south of the border! Teton Literacy staff will join Art Association staff for another fun-filled week of art explorations in Spanish and English. Each day 15 new Spanish vocabulary words will be emphasized and integrated through teachings, song, story-time and games!
MONDAY – SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS
Make your own shining sun face wall plaque and create large scale “rainbow striped” blanket murals in beautiful and bright colors to resemble the Zapotec weavings of Mexico.
TUESDAY – ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS
Inca, Aztec, Mayan….Machu Picchu and pottery! Learn about the food and culture of these indigenous peoples and make your own air-dry pottery in a traditional style used long ago.
WEDNESDAY – FRIDA KAHLO AND DIEGO RIVERA
Express yourself in a self-portrait masterpiece inspired by
Frida’s paintings, then work larger than life on a tropical
mural like Diego once painted.
THURSDAY – ART OF THE ANDES
Try your hand at your own arts and crafts inspired by
the traditional textiles of these mountain people. We will
explore drawing, painting, and various paper arts in this
mixed-media class.
FRIDAY – PIñATA PARTY FRIDAY CLASS IS FULL. Please Call the Art Association to be put on a wait list.
Arriba, arriba! Today we will make our own beautiful fish piñatas with shining scales and paper tail to swim free in our ocean filled with creatures from south of the border! |
