Join Doris for one class or all four, you pick and choose which best suit your interests and schedule!
June 12 WEAVING Learn about looms and how they interlace fibers into cloth. Find out that you can begin weaving without the great investment of a floor loom. Learn off loom techniques that will open the world of weaving to endless possibilities.
June 19 FELTING Experience two very different types of felting. For detailed work we will experiment with needle felting. For larger lumpy felt, we will use a quick and easy method. We will prepare the fibers in class, then you will take them home to finish in your washing machine.
June 26 BRAIDING Make Japanese and Peruvian braids. Take home the braids and the skills to continue making braids to use as decorative trim on clothing or for practical purposes such as tack for horses.
July 10 DYEING Participate in preparing plant materials for natural dyes and mixing synthetic dye powders. Understand the value and the potential for the use of both types of dying. Leave this class knowing that you can create an exciting new fabric/yarn color
for your next knitting, sewing or weaving project.
