| Course Description |
| Explore the variety and constant evolution of one painting location with pastel painter Jennifer L. Hoffman. During two 8-hour painting days, participants will have the opportunity to paint several paintings of one location while delving into the intricacies of the pastel medium. Jennifer will discuss the technical aspects of working with pastels in the field as well as the aesthetic concerns of selecting a subject, composition, value, color, form, edges, and texture. Rather than creating finished works, participants will focus on getting great starts to stimulate larger compositions in the studio. Beginners to the pastel medium are welcome, though some plein air experience will be helpful. |
