Pamphlet Stitch and Beyond

Course Description

Learn to sew a dos a dos (back to back) pamphlet book, starting with a three-hole binding and then moving to five holes. Pamphlet stitch is easy and adaptable to cards, small books and more complex structures with many pages. This class is open to all levels and will teach the student about paper grain, unusual threads, and how to use tools such as a bone folder, awl, and heavy thread with beeswax.

Instructor

Emily Marks is a bookbinding and paper art teacher. She lives in Sonoma,CA and travels to Jackson Wyoming every summer.  Her work has been in exhibitions and shows throughout the country and internationally. She is the author of Thread Loves Paper, in Contemporary Artist Books, published in 2012.
