| Refresh your skills or learn new ones - Play for a day with Kay. Kay Stratman has adapted a Chinese technique called “p’o mo” (translated meaning “splash ink”) to create colorful saturated watercolor paintings on a gold or silver surface. The outcome can be abstract or realistic to fit your style. Two gold shikishi boards, watercolors and other basic supplies are provided with class fee. Additional shikishi boards will be available to purchase. |

Kay Stratman practices sumi-e, the ancient art of Asian brush painting -- literally "sumi" = ink and "e" = picture. (Pronounced soo me a). Sumi-e uses traditional subjects, specific techniques, special equipment and papers - stick ink (sumi), grinding stone, rice paper and silk, and bamboo handled brushes. www.kaystratman.com |
