Exploring the Spring Landscape

Lucinda Abbe

Course Description
As the May weather changes the winter landscape into brilliant green, it’s time to get outside and paint! Each class will begin in the studio for a warm-up to get the creativity flowing then moves to nearby locations for on-site painting. Instruction will emphasize acrylic and oil pastel on paper, although you may bring other media of your choice. Beginner and intermediate artists welcome.
Instructor
Lucinda Abbe was born in New York in 1950 and grew up near the beach on Long Island. She has always loved to paint and picked up her first techniques at age 3. After two years at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), she spent ten years studying and teaching meditation. Eventually, Lucinda's career went back to the arts, with some dance on the side. She moved to Jackson Hole in 1995 and returns to New York annually to spend part of each summer in Montauk.

Lucinda's love of nature, the outdoors and wildlife inform her work. In-between times when change and movement are in the air (movement around a still point) is what inspires her to paint.
