Watercolor
Plein Air

Fred Kingwill

Course Description
If you are looking forward to summer after being cooped up indoors, this is a great opportunity to spend the day painting watercolor plein air style. Weather permitting the class will spend the day outdoors in the field or under shelters capturing the spring landscape. Be sure to bring a hat and plenty of layers for a day of unpredictable spring weather. All levels are welcome, a supply list will be available upon request or enrollment.
Instructor
A Michigan native, Fred Kingwill moved to Jackson February 6, 1980 and taught his first watercolor class for the Art Association in the very same spot where we reside today. But back then we were the Community Visual Art Association and we were not in the Center for the Arts building, but in the old elementary school building. To Fred, teaching has been one of his greatest joys and it always boils down to the people, the friendships made, the experiences and information shared and wonderful times painting inside and out. When Fred teaches, he shares everything from his books to his techniques and is open to all, he is not pretentious and just wants everyone to succeed and have their lives enhanced by the arts.
