Winter Landscape

Lucinda Abbe

Course Description
Painting our winter landscape is a challenge: Is there only snow? Or can we find lots of color? Discover the answer as you go on locations around the valley. Lucinda leads the class to picture windows (sit indoors!) where you will paint the spectacular landscape with a new palette of colors! Each class begins with an inspirational exercise. Our medium: acrylic and oil pastel on paper, or your choice. All levels welcome.
Instructor
Lucinda Abbe was born in New York in 1950 and grew up near the beach on Long Island. She has always loved to paint and picked up her first techniques at age 3. After two years at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), she spent ten years studying and teaching meditation. Eventually, Lucinda's career went back to the arts, with some dance on the side. She moved to Jackson Hole in 1995 and returns to New York annually to spend part of each summer in Montauk.

Lucinda's love of nature, the outdoors and wildlife inform her work. In-between times when change and movement are in the air (movement around a still point) is what inspires her to paint.
