| Course Description |
| Learn the art of analog b&w printing. Students will process film and make photo enlargements from negative into silver gelatin prints. Students will be required to develop their own individual practice outside of class and use the class time to take advantage of the rarified darkroom. Class time will be focused on learning the techniques of printing a successful image, culminating in a group critique of technical rigor and creative process. Classes will meet once a week for six weeks. |

Thomas Macker received his MFA from CalArts in Photography and Media. He recently transplanted from Los Angeles, CA where he was working as an artist, curator, editorial photographer, and video journalist/filmmaker. As an artist/curator he has exhibited his work in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and abroad. For WhyTuesday.org, he wrote, shot, directed, and edited for the organization’s website video blog, which was distributed internationally through various web and broadcast outlets including L.A.
