HOW TO USE YOUR
DIGITAL SINGLE LENS REFLEX CAMERA

Course Description
Intended to introduce photographers to their new or unexplored Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras. Starting with an overview of the camera and digital photography the class will progress to students taking their cameras in the field to photograph and return to the studio to evaluate their work on the photography Department’s computers.
Instructor

Jon Stuart's photographs focus on the modern West. He began teaching as an assistant for Ansel Adams Yosemite Workshops. Since the 1970's he has lead photography workshops for the Teton Science School, the Snake River Institute, Central Wyoming College and the Art Association of Jackson Hole. His work has been exhibited at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, the University of Wyoming Art Museum, the Nicolaysen Musem, the Wyoming State Museum, and the Wyoming Arts Council Gallery. He is represented by the Oswald Gallery in Jackson Hole.

Thomas Macker received his MFA from CalArts in Photography and Media. He recently transplanted from Los Angeles, CA where he was working as an artist, curator, editorial photographer, and video journalist/filmmaker. As an artist/curator he has exhibited his work in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and abroad. For WhyTuesday.org, he wrote, shot, directed, and edited for the organization’s website video blog, which was distributed internationally through various web and broadcast outlets including L.A. Observed, The Huffington Post, Rocketboom, LAist, National Journal, Anderson Cooper 360: CNN, Current Issues: Current T.V., and Day to Day: NPR.
