| Course Description |
This course is a series of perceptual exercises intended to explore communication using photography. Some of the topics covered in class will be visual perception, becoming an acute observer, visual editing, learning to respond to the moment and overcoming creative block. Exercises will be used to encourage participants to establish their personal viewpoint and to expand their awareness of visual opportunities. An open mind and
a willingness to experiment and explore are prerequisites. |

| Jon Stuart's photographs focus on the modern West. He began teaching as an assistant for Ansel Adams Yosemite Workshops. Since the 1970's he has lead photography workshops for the Teton Science School, the Snake River Institute, Central Wyoming College and the Art Association of Jackson Hole. His work has been exhibited at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, the University of Wyoming Art Museum, the Nicolaysen Musem, the Wyoming State Museum, and the Wyoming Arts Council Gallery. He is represented by the Oswald Gallery in Jackson Hole. |
